Patrick J. Starich holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin and Master’s degree in Geoscience (Geophysics) from Purdue University.  Married since 1985 to Marie, a Civil Geotechnical Engineer with degrees from Duke and Purdue Universities.  Retired in 2014 after more than 30 years as a scientist at ExxonMobil’s exploration, research, production, and development affiliates. Pat is a seasoned geoscientist with direct knowledge of the habit of oil and gas in many of the world’s sedimentary basins.  He is a licensed professional geologist in the State of Wyoming and interested in the interpretation and numerical modeling of surface and subsurface petroleum geology, the concentration and distribution of radon gas, and the assessment of seismic geohazard risks in the Northern Rockies.    Pat is an avid outdoorsman, wilderness guide, alpinist, and skier.  Pat is a life member, past Editor, Secretary, Vice-President, and President of the Geophysical Society of Houston and a current member of the American Geophysical Union.  He volunteers as Membership Chair and Training Chair for the Jackson District Boy Scouts of America,  serves as President of Friends of Graham & Dodd investing club.
