The Challenges of Forecasting Jackson Hole Snow Fall

Jim Woodmency 1/13/15

Local meteorologist Jim Woodmencey of MountainWeather.com will explain our local “Snow Climate” and the widely variable snowfall distribution that we see, from the valley floor to the mountains, from one side of the Tetons to the other, and from Jackson Hole to southern Yellowstone National Park. From there he will give you some insight into the tools he uses to help him make his local forecasts of snowfall amounts during the winter season, and what types of weather patterns are most favorable for creating those “big dumps”! Jim will also give you a walk-through of various resources available on the Internet related to snow and snowfall forecasts that you can follow throughout the course of this winter season.
