On the SECOND Tuesday of December (the 9th), we will have a presentation by local geologist John Hebberger (Jr), entitled “Fermi’s Paradox: Where is Everybody? Or, is Life “Out There”?” John’s presentation will explore the questions around whether life, and in particular intelligent life, exists beyond Earth. We have entered an era when it has become possible to address and even answer many of the relevant questions. Discussed will be how life began and developed on Earth, and what this might say about life elsewhere. We will then explore issues about exoplanets and their stars. The first exoplanet was discovered only a short 30 years
ago. There are as of yet no absolute answers, but the range of key issues will be covered.
