Tim Taylor is from a small town in Kentucky, located in the knobs region of part of a transitional geological zone between the outer Bluegrass and Cumberland Plateau.
He studied business and supply chain at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, where he discovered his love for geology late, in his last year of undergraduate studies. After graduating with his business degrees, he would frequent geological destinations around the state of Wisconsin including the scenic Baraboo Range, the sand dunes in Kohler, the Glacial Drumlin Region, the Driftless Region, and the Niagara Escarpment.
Tim moved to Jackson Hole in the early part of 2024 and has been exploring the numerous geological features in the area. He worked a summer at a local guest ranch located in the Gros Ventre, leading hikes frequently. His favorite hike to lead that summer was up the Nose of the Sleeping Indian (aka Sheep Mountain) because of the view seen along the way and especially up top. Later that year he found the Geologists of Jackson Hole and started attending their monthly talks.
