Hawaii 2016-2017

The November 2016 and the May 2017 excursions were remarkable, perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime trip – 9 days exploring geology, history, archaeology, geography, fauna, flora, , and more in one of the world’s truly unique places – the big island of Hawaii. Our guides—Dr. Richard (Rick) W. Hazlett (Professor Emeritus, Pomona College; Affiliate Faculty Member, University of Hawaii at Hilo) and GJH member Dr. Robert (Bob) I. Tilling (Scientist Emeritus, U.S. Geological Survey, Menlo Park, California)— organized this trip.  Itinerary
